1:1 fest is a freeform fanwork fest dedicated to geonmaetgeon (ZB1 park gunwook/seok matthew). we aim to be an easy first-time fest to join. gmg has inspired many fans to start or return to writing, editing, and drawing—and we want to carry on that spirit!the original 1:1 fest was a prompt meme fic fest held in Nov '24.

the name

1:1 is a reference to matthew sulking about gunwook inviting other people along on what was supposed to be a "1:1 date" during gunwook's so-called "hard to get" era.1111 is also an angel number. matthew and gunwook have both called each other their guardian angel. (and of course, intl gmg shippers call ourselves teddy angels 🩵)

the mods

mod citrus 🍋 and mod grape 🍇 are fic writers with previous experience running fandom events. we love zerobaseone, park gunwook, seok matthew, 건맽건, geonmaetgeon, and mattparkz.

Rules

How it Works

each day of the fest will have four prompts to choose from, each inspired by one of the five senses. you can interpret the prompts however you like, not just in relation to the senses.you can pick one or combine more—even across multiple days! prompts are vague and permissive to allow for more creative freedom! assume that the answer to "does this fit the prompt?" is "yes!"we accept all forms of fanworks including—but not limited to—fanfiction, fanart, edits, and social media AUs. the minimum requirements are only 111 words or 1 image or video!

How to Submit

works may optionally be posted to the ao3 collection once open.just post to submit! you can post your full work or a preview with an off-site link. if you are submitting an existing work, you are free to quote your original post for the work! you just need to include three things in your post:

for text-based media posted only as an image (like drabbles or social media AUs), we encourage you to include ALT text for accessibility, though it is not required.posting early is fine! your submission will just be shared by the fest account(s) on the day of the relevant prompt. late submissions are also welcome! there is no need to request an extension. at this time, we do not have a hard cutoff for late works.please DM us if your post is not shared within 48 hours of the day of your prompt. we will reach out first whenever possible if there are issues. however, some accounts are limited in mentions and hashtag searches

anonymous submissions

on ao3: add your work to the anonymous collection in addition to the fest collection. you can choose to deanon in the future by simply removing your work from the anonymous collection.as a reminder, there is no anon/reveals period in the fest collection.on twitter & bluesky: a google form for submissions will open at the same time as the ao3 collection. this form is only for if you do not plan to make your own post on twitter or bluesky–if you are posting anonymously or do not have a public account on either platform, this is how you will be able to participate in the fest itself!if you only have an account on bluesky but not twitter (or vice versa), you can also use this form to have us post on your behalf on the other platform. you will be able to select if you would like a post made on twitter, bluesky, or both sites. please do not fill out a submission form if you plan to make your own post for us to repost.the submission form will be open sat oct 11 - mon dec 1. we will continue to share submission posts indefinitely, and you will still be able to post fics to the ao3 collection. however, if you would like to participate anonymously or do not have a public twitter or bluesky account, you will need to submit prior to december 1.

is there a prompting period?
no. there will not be a prompt meme for this round.are late submissions okay?
yes! no extensions necessary.what about early submissions?
"early" works that were posted in the current calendar year (i.e. 2025) can be submitted to the fest under most prompts, as long as they have not been previously submitted as part of a different event. the one exception to this is the "free day" prompt—please only submit new and original fanworks for this particular prompt!are sequels to existing works allowed?
yes, as long as your submission for the fest fits the guidelines! combining prompts across multiple days is also okay!can i submit a work in a language other than english?
all written works must be in english for ease of moderation. using audio or lyrics from a non-english song and including words, phrases, or sentences from other languages is OK! if you are interested in finding someone to help you translate and edit your work into english, please let us know which language, and we'd be happy to put out a call for people that may be able to help!can you promote my event?
